ugh. not only annoying, but long-winded too. I couldn't even finish it. Are they out to prove what an idiot they are for wasting a good education because they never could figure out what they wanted to do? How sad.

I know.

He seems to devote an awful lot of time to consciously being an asshole because he hates his life.

If he hates his work so much why does he subject the general public to his asshatery? I think one of the problems in public libraries is people like him who don't care and will never get fired.

I thought he pointed out some interesting points with some flaws (and long windedness... must happen because he doesn't get paid to get to the point). 1-just because he works well with a gun pointed to his head doesn't mean everyone does. 2-productivity in the eyes of shareholders doesn't always equate to the best and most efficient work. Look at the business of US healthcare if you need an example. It sounds like he needed a business degree to reaffirm all of his previous thoughts on what good business means...

It sounds like he has not accomplished what he wants and is projecting all his failure onto the other staff members and public libraries in general. While I agree that public libraries are somewhat inefficient in their opertions, I don't think making them operate like a high stakes finanical firm where everyone is viable or even intelligent.
